How to get a working life: the different ways to obtain it

Not many know that this work life faith can be drawn in many different ways. And that is what we are going to explain to you today because, although in the past you could only access it by going personally to a Social Security office, now you have more facilities and methods to achieve it.

What is the work life certificate?

La work life certificate, also known as work life report, It is a document that reflects the companies that have hired us, the type of contract that they have made us, the hours quoted and the total period that we have been "active" for Social Security.

Actually, it is a very important document because it helps you determine how many years you have been contributing and, with a view to retirement, you will be able to know if you are entitled to a pension or, on the contrary, you have to contribute longer to receive it.

However, it also has another function, and it is to verify that indeed the company for which you are working has registered you as a worker, that your contract is active and that it also corresponds to what you have signed. Otherwise, you can claim for that contract to appear (that does not come out does not mean that your company has not registered you with Social Security, it may happen that there is a lag of several days or weeks, that it has been misplaced in Social Security, etc.).

What data does work life contain

A work life certificate contains several important data for a worker, either self-employed or employed. And it is that in it you will find:

The companies that have hired you. Or, in the case of self-employed, it will say that you have registered as a self-employed person in the RETA (Special Scheme for Self-Employed Workers).
Unemployment. Yes, unemployment also contributes to workers, so you can see it reflected in this certificate.
The date of registration in Social Security, whether you are an employee or self-employed, will come on the day you were registered, and should coincide with the day that comes in your contract.
The termination date, especially in those companies for which you no longer work or contracts that have already expired.
Type of employment contract, if it is indefinite, temporary, partial ...

Ways to get out of work life

The work life report no longer obliges the person who wants it to go to a Social Security office. You can continue doing this, but there are also other methods that streamline all procedures. Do you want to know them?

In person

We will start by talking about taking work life in person, that is, in person and going to a Social Security office.

This requires, in many cases, that make an appointment, since you risk that, when you go, there will not be and you will have to waste time that day, in addition to the time you have for the appointment. However, in other offices the process of the work life certificate does not require appointments.

Of course, it does not mean that it will be to arrive and that they take care of you. The safest thing is that you will have to wait, and it can be quite a long time, it will depend on the number of officials and people in front of you.

By phone

If going to the office is complicated for you, why not use the phone? You currently have a telephone number available with which you can obtain the certificate of working life.

For that:

Call the number 901 50 20 50. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9 in the morning to 7 in the afternoon. In principle, a recording and a system that will recognize your voice and interpret what you want will attend to you.

In case you have the PIN, there is not much problem because it will redirect you to the password gateway where you will have to choose an identification method (electronic ID, cl @ ve pin, permanent cl @ ve). In the last two cases, it is necessary to be registered. If you give the PIN code, you will need your ID, your validity date, and have an application on your mobile that is where they send you a code to activate the password (About 10 minutes).

No certificate

When you do not have a certificate, nor do you want to do it with any of the other options, what you can do is give the option to obtain the report without the need for a certificate.

In this case, you will be able to fill in your personal information: name, surname, ID, address, security number, e-mail… and the certificate will be sent to your home by post. But beware it will take between one and two weeks.
