Citizen Movement We Give the Face

We face

What is the most important thing we have in our lives? Surely when faced with a question like this, the answer is very clear: The family. We would give our lives for her and now, it is time to do something similar, hence the We give the Face movement has decided to join together to give voice to all those companies that have been working for years and years and that are a great base of our country.

From all corners of Spain, we have family businesses that have managed to keep up. As such, they have contributed socially and economically to the country. So now, because of the pandemic generated by Covid-19, all these family businesses come together despite the physical distance. A union that enhances that spirit that has kept them so alive, that entrepreneurial path that is one of the most important ways to get afloat. And you, do you join the Damos La Cara movement?

What is the Damos La Cara movement?

Surely with the aforementioned, you already get an idea. It is a movement, or initiative that originates from social media. In which both employers and employees of family businesses want to make the entire population see, the real importance they have both economically and socially. To open our eyes and think that the public sector alone could not cope with the economic problems.

Therefore, the union of all of them can be the basis for a prompt recovery after the crisis caused by the coronavirus. So far, more than 1.400 companies have joined the movement We give the face. So this results in that around 1,4 million people collaborate in getting their jobs back and in economic growth in general. We can say that the voice of this movement is the family businesses that we have in Spain. Did you know that all of them represent 67% of private employment?

The main objectives of the initiative

Although we all know family businesses, perhaps not many people had realized that the importance they have for the economy was more than vital. Each and every one has years and several generations of tradition, of sacrifice and surrender. What makes this transmit in desire and in continuing to maintain hope. All of them add up to 90% of the productive fabric and it is said that they usually last an average of 33 years compared to those that are not of this family nature.

What you want to achieve is that all that effort that we mention, is a great recognition. Because they are parents, children and even grandchildren or great-grandchildren who run the businesses. Because they all have cared and take care of even the smallest detail in their production, elaboration and resources, always offering the best of themselves. Hence, when they all come together, nothing can stop them. It is an open initiative that welcomes each and every one of the companies that want to join forces and open up for a speedy full recovery.

The importance of Damos la Cara

After all we mentioned it, we made clear the importance of a movement like Damos La Cara. On the one hand, the union of different companies with each other but with a single objective in the form of visibility and solidarity. Because the union always makes the force and in this way, all row towards that same objective: To show that they are a important pillar in economic and social life. It is in moments of crisis that the union and the efforts of workers and bosses have been seen. Hence, the real importance is in the sense of being more united than ever and thinking that without all the people behind it, a company alone would have little value.

Why was such a move necessary?

Because, although all companies are equally important, it is true that some can be somewhat in the shadows. So if your work is important to the recovery of more people, it should always be kept in mind. To add more, it should be mentioned that these types of companies add 89% of all Spanish private companies, that is, 1,1 million.

But is that in addition, generate 67% of private employment, which feeds many families. Therefore, its weight in economic activity would correspond to 57% of the private sector's GDP. Both in the primary and secondary sectors it has a high presence. Through the videos, the companies are contributing their granite in the form of experience to continue in their endeavor and objectives. Do you join the Damos La Cara movement?
