It is the latter that we want to talk to you about below since not everyone can have the Internet or has time to attend a face-to-face appointment with Social Security. So, if you want to know how to request work life by free phone, here we tell you what you should do.
What is working life
Work life, also called work life certificate or work life certificate, is an official document, issued by the Social Security Treasury, where everything related to the labor issue is compiled, that is, contracts (high and low ), disabilities, unemployment, situations assimilated upon discharge ... of a person.
This document is personal, and only the owner can request it since it contains private and unique information about that person.
What is working life for
Work life is a document that has multiple uses. In fact, although the most normal thing is that it is used to know if a company has registered a worker, or to consult the period of contributions that person has with respect to Social Security, the truth is that it serves much more .
For example:
- To calculate whether you can claim unemployment benefit, or unemployment, more specifically. And it is necessary a minimum period of contribution to access this.
- To calculate whether you qualify for a retirement pension.
- To verify that the company has registered you with Social Security.
- To process any leave that may be required (temporary disability, maternity, paternity ...).
- To verify that Social Security has counted on all the working life that the worker has carried out. Otherwise, you can request, in writing, and providing all possible data, the inclusion of those jobs that have not been taken into account (either because they are old, because the company did not register ...).
Ways to ask for work life
Although we want to focus on teaching you how to request a work life by free phone, we cannot avoid leaving you the other options you have to request a work life. And it is that Social Security offers you four ways to do it (counting the telephone route). These are:
- By SMS.
- By Internet. With three modalities: with user data and without digital certificate; with digital certificate or electronic DNI; via PIN Cl @ ve.
- In person at the offices of the General Treasury of Social Security.
- By phone.
Each of them has peculiarities that must be met in order to obtain working life. In fact, we have already discussed some of them previously, so they can serve as a guide if the telephone option does not suit you.
Ask for work life: free phone
Asking for work life over the free phone is possible, and it can relieve you of stress. But you have to keep in mind that this is not immediate, that is, it will take a while until you get it, so if you need it urgently, the best thing then is to review the options that we have given you before .
But if time is not a problem, then the steps you must take to request work life are the following:
Request work life by free phone: Call by phone
The first, and most obvious, to ask for work life by free phone is to make a phone call. For this, the Social Security has enabled a number, which is 901502050. Now, it is a 901 that, as you know, is not free, which is why it is recommended that, if you call, you do it with a fixed number to that costs less. However, there is an alternative.
And you can apply for work life by phone at 913878381. It is not free either, but taking into account that we have unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles, it can be free if you use this second option.
Of course, remember that the phone's customer service hours (whether you call the first or the second) is from 9 in the morning to 7 in the afternoon, and it will only be available from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays they will not attend you.
Another aspect to take into account is that requesting work life by phone is not in all provinces. For example, in Álava, Alicante, Ávila, Barcelona, Córdoba, Guipúzcoa, Granada, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Soria, Valencia and Vizcaya it is not possible to obtain it this way.
Request work life by free phone: Choose option 4
When they take the call, the most common is that you find a recording. When you listen to it, you will realize that you must choose option 3 or 4 and, at that moment, you will have to say all the information that they ask for, such as your Social Security number, your ID or passport, address and postal code . Have everything at hand so that the call does not hang up and you have to start from scratch.
Choose the type of work life
Once you have provided the data, you will have to decide what type of work life report you need. For example, you can choose a complete one, with all your work history, another with a date range, or other filters.
Wait for the report
The call will have ended, and now you will only have to wait 1-2 weeks for your work life report to arrive at the address that Social Security has registered. Does that mean that if I give another address it will not reach me? Well, probably not.
In fact, it is possible that when you give the data, if they see that these are not what they have in Social Security, they ask you to rectify the information they have about you, since, otherwise, they would send the report to the address that they know.
